Explore America Summer 2016 {Downtown Little Rock}

September 10, 2016

Stop number two on our road trip was Little Rock, Arkansas. I immediately thought.. What could be so great about Little Rock? But then we arrived at the campsite and this was our view.

What you can’t see in this photo is that to the left of our campsite there was another old junction bridge that has been restored and made into a pedestrian bridge. There were  joggers, walkers and bicyclist on bridge going from one side of the river to the other.  Once across, you can  walk right into downtown Little Rock.

I adore this photo of Joel on the Junction bridge…  He loved running around and peeking over the side. The bridge sits about 38 feet above the water so you can really get a good view of the city from here.  We took this bridge across the river to explore the city and find a place for dinner.  It was a beautiful day out so the walk was really nice after riding for in the RV for a while.

At some point Joel requested to be even higher up on Kyle’s shoulders.  I managed to snap this one just before they ran off.

Once we made it across the river we found these really cool hand painted tile mosaics under the freeway.  We took the opportunity to take some crazy silly photos here.

Just before we found this awesome bar to grab a bite at we saw this beautiful old building with this fantastic giant door. The architecture around downtown Little Rock is so beautiful. I think if we had not been so tired we could have explored for hours!

Although we only stayed there for about 24 hours we saw some great stuff and woke up to a beautiful view of the river. We can’t wait to visit again and explore more!

Next up… Memphis!!!
